Where to Watch Soccer in Boston

Boston turns into a soccer city this summer. With the 2026 World Cup bringing major international matches to the region, downtown is filled with fans and visitors looking for somewhere to eat, drink, and watch the game. And if there is one kind of place built for matching the energy of the game, it is an Irish-American bar.

CARA means friend, and that is the whole idea. We are a downtown bar and restaurant on Devonshire Street, where coworkers become friends, one drink has a habit of turning into two, and the welcome is genuine. Here is how to make match day work, at CARA and around the city.

What You Want on Match Day
A good match-day spot is more than a screen on the wall. When you are deciding where to go, look for:

-
Enough screens, placed so you can see the match from your seat
-
Sound on the game when the room allows it
-
A full food menu, not just snacks, so the table can settle in
-
A real drink list, with beer, wine, and cocktails
-
Group seating that can handle friends, coworkers, or a larger party
-
Easy access to transit, so getting in and out is simple
-
Room for an after-work crowd without a long wait
There is a long tradition of gathering in an Irish bar to watch the match, and it holds up for a reason. The good ones put real food and a warm room around the game. That is the part CARA cares about most.

Match Day at CARA
CARA sits on Devonshire Street in the heart of downtown, an Irish-American bar and restaurant that blends Boston comfort with Irish table culture. When the match is on, the room leans in. Familiar flavors, generous portions, and plenty worth passing around the table.

The kitchen is the kind you want for a long match. Fish and chips. CARA's Famous Spice Bags, crispy chicken or haddock tossed with Irish chips, peppers, onions, and house spices, all served with our signature curry sauce. Plenty more besides, with gluten-free options if you ask. From the bar, expect craft cocktails and classics, cold beer, and a wine list that does not require a sommelier to navigate. (Ask the team about The Devonshire, our house espresso martini.)

Because CARA opens early and the bar runs late, the room is ready whether your match lands at breakfast, midday, or under the lights. International schedules move around, so if there is a particular match you want to catch, give us a call at (617) 720-1234 and we will let you know what we are showing. You can look over the menu before you come in.

Finding CARA in Downtown Boston
You will find CARA at 54 Devonshire Street, steps from the Old State House and a short walk from Faneuil Hall, Post Office Square, and Downtown Crossing. State Street and Downtown Crossing stations are both close, which makes CARA an easy answer for anyone searching where to watch soccer downtown Boston. Driving in, Pi Alley and Metropolis are the nearest garages, and the garage at One Post Office Square offers good weekend rates about a four minute walk from the front door.
CARA is open daily from 7am to 11pm, with the bar open from 11am until close, so most match times are covered.

Watching as a Group
Match day brings a crowd, and CARA is built for it. We are walk-in only, with seating first come, first served, so you can simply turn up. Bringing a bigger group? Give us a call ahead of time so we can be ready for you. (We also run karaoke on Thursdays and live music on Saturdays, in case match day turns into match night.)

More Locations in the Craft Food Halls Family

CARA is part of Craft Food Halls, a New England group with more than a dozen rooms across the area. If downtown is not where your day lands, a sister spot may be closer.

The Alley is right around the corner at One Post Office Square, a downtown restaurant and bar with the match on the screens, a deep wine list, and games like ping pong and shuffleboard.

Beyond downtown, the group's food halls are easy gathering spots, each with full menus, self-pour beer and wine, and games. Revolution Hall off Maguire Road in Lexington has a patio and seasonal beer garden. The Waltham location anchors the CityPoint development near the Market Basket plaza. The Cambridge food hall sits across from the Alewife T station, with garage parking. Boxborough gives larger groups room to spread out off Beaver Brook Road. And the Allston location inside the Studio Allston Hotel brings a courtyard and Mediterranean dining room near the Charles River.

Match-Day Tips
A little planning goes a long way when the city is busy:

-
Check hours before you head out, since they can shift around major events. CARA's run long, but it is worth a look.
-
Plan around your commute and transit times, especially for evening matches.
-
Arrive a little early for the marquee matches, when seating fills up fast.
A few small steps, and you spend the match watching the match.
